Engaged as an Asset Manager for a $1B Bank Receivership responsible for managing a portfolio of retained commercial credits. Familiar with FDIC Receivership guidelines and procedures and experienced in the preparation and presentation of Cases and LASRs. Duties included the orderly liquidation of retained assets requiring special asset management. Types of commercial credits under management requiring specialized expertise included construction, A&D, commercial real estate and SBA 7(a).

Toledo, Ohio Area

Managed a portfolio of commercial customers in partnership with RMs, to deepen and retain assigned relationships, proactively evaluating and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities. Responsible for the credit quality and monitoring of Commercial portfolio risks; including risk rating new and existing credits in the assigned portfolio. Managed delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base reporting, Portfolio Reviews, CARS reporting and annual reviews. Presented proposed credit actions in written analysis document and as necessary, presented to Senior Loan Committee. Ensured the underwriting/loan structure complied with regulations, policies and procedures. Appropriately tied structure and covenants to identify and mitigate risks and tested covenant levels required of borrowers.

Cincinnati Area, Ky

Co–Manager of the Loan Review Department of Park National Bank and its affiliate banks. Direct reporting responsibilities to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Developed, implemented and revamped the policies, procedures and scope of the loan review department. Assisted in the revision of the Commercial Loan Review Policy and Procedures with the corresponding revision to the Commercial Lending Policy of the bank. Revised the loan review line sheets. Improved the quality and frequency of reporting to the Executive Committee. Expanded the coverage of the annual loan review to 80% of the commercial loan portfolio with a risk based continuous review for all banks within the Park National Corporation including all affiliate banks. Reviews encompass all types of commercial loans including commercial real estate (OO & NOO), Ag, floor plan, warehouse lines of credit, non-profit, structured finance, C & I, retail consumer and mortgage loans. Responsibilities include global cash flow analysis of borrowers and guarantors. Performed collateral review and analysis of each loan file. Documentation analysis of all credits in excess of $300,000. Portfolio reporting was provided via Exit Meetings, Interim Reports and Annual Summary of Findings. Included as a team member in several due diligence reviews of potential acquisition candidate banks.

Cincinnati Area, Ky

Responsible for the portfolio management and credit administration of the alternative [SBA 7(a), Ohio Link Deposit and Ohio Capital Access] and conventional lending programs in the Cincinnati region of Fifth Third Bank. Duties involved managing the SBA lending group from the attainment of PLP status to underwriting, servicing and liquidation, through the sale of 7(a) loans in the secondary markets. Responsible for credit underwriting of all commercial loans originated by the BDG representatives and the retail banking centers with aggregate exposures up to $2,000,000. Additional duties involved documentation review, compliance, credit risk and portfolio risk assessment. Managed criticized assets within the BDG, Middle Market, CRE, Leasing and SBA departments in the Cincinnati and northern Kentucky markets. Direct involvement with the borrower and outside legal counsel negotiating terms of repayment, forbearance agreements and liquidation of collateral. Well versed with creditor rights in bankruptcy matters.

Managed the portfolio of criticized and problem commercial credits within the southern region of Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. Duties included identification and workout of criticized credits and restructure and collection of delinquent commercial/industrial and commercial real estate loans. Developed a risk rating worksheet adopted as part of credit policy. Promoted to Vice President in 1994. Received three Chairman Awards for exemplary performance.
