I am a technically strong Architect, Manager, and Leader, with over 25 years of experience. My experience extends from delivering highly scalable enterprise class websites built on an extensible SOA platform to providing SaaS systems (processing over $400 million in payments and close to 5 million transactions in 2013), to backend Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, and Analytics. My experience includes working with local teams, and multi-national/off-shore teams. While I have significant hands-on coding experience (approximately 20 years), the majority of my career has been spent in Technical leadership roles - mostly leading design and hands on implementation efforts as an Architect across a variety of projects. While I am a strong technical Architect, my specialty is Leadership and I have been focused on Leadership and Management roles for the past 7 years. What sets me apart from other technical Architects is my ability to bring people together, get everybody pointed in the right direction and focused on achieving our team goals. I have provided leadership as a hands-on Technical Leader, as an Architect, and as a Leader of both Architecture and Development teams. I have helped turn around team performance and improve the communication and efficiency of teams - leading to improved results. No matter what role I am hired into, I always end up with a leadership role on the team - whether providing technical leadership, team leadership, or actually managing the team.I believe that a Leader is responsible for setting the priorities of the team, keeping the team focused on goals and results, stepping back to give the team space to succeed, and doing everything possible to insure that the team is setup for success. I thrive on the challenge of leading teams to solve tough technical problems and to create elegant software, and I have a track record of successful results, on-time deliveries, and successful projects.
