After a decade immersed in hustle culture entrepreneurship, I embraced our acquisition by Hammer.net. Taking some time off, I followed my heart, which led me to a new life in Costa Rica, complete with a unicorn wife, a magical second son, an exhilarating new venture, and endless adventures. 🤠I was uncertain about my career trajectory in the land of Pura Vida until I was recruited in late 2020 by Associated Restaurant Services, better known as "ARS." Having consulted for this 40-year-old food service industry innovator for over a decade, the transition was seamless, especially since the new family owner was my middle school best friend!He tasked me with digitizing the equipment and facilities maintenance training they had been providing to Starbucks for over a decade. 🧜🏽‍♀️Their training was commendable (even receiving a Bravo Award from Howard Schultz in 2008), but the content was dry and unengaging, especially for the predominantly Gen-Z workforce. My challenge was to build a lovable, scalable MVP in less than a year on a bootstrap budget, with minimal assistance in course creation. No small feat... 😅But we did it!And thus, Green Machine was born.
