•Lead IT Business Unit operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating allocation of resources.•Manage the deployment, monitoring maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including business systems, RDBMS, servers, PCs, operating systems (OS), hardware, software and peripherals.•Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of IT systems, infrastructure and IT services.•Oversee provision of end-user services, including service desk and technical support services.•Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for IT services and technology implementations.•Develop and maintain effective succession planning to ensure continuity of performance•Manage financial aspects of the IT Business Unit including budgeting, purchasing and budget review.•Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.•Manage IT Projects.•Develop and implement all IT plans, policies and procedures, including those for configuration and change management, architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.•Provide regular IT Business Unit staff and IT services performance reports.•Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements.•Practice asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment.•Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, performance and disciplinary actions.•Define, develop, document, implement and regularly review operational policies, procedures and processes, to maintain and continually improve performance and quality standards•Manage delivery of requested changes/projects from the Business Units•Research, document and prepare leading edge technology submissions and discussion papers for Senior Management consideration

As the Data Network Manager for BSP, I was respsonsible for the upkeep and smooth running and management of BSP's Data Network including its overseas branches in Fiji, Solomon Islands and Niue with a team of 11 staff comprising 3 Senior Network Engineers, 5 Senior Network Officers and 3 Junior Network officers. Apart from playing a management role, I was also involved and worked closely with our engineers on design, configurations and support of Core Cisco Network. Also project managed and worked on a number of projects with technological advancements for BSP relating to network upgrades etc..

I was responsible for 8 BSP Branches in the Highlands Region doing support work. This included supporting the physical network infrastructure including configurations of Cisco equipment, support of Win 2K3/8 Server Infrastructure, Win XP and Desktop support, BSP ICBS and Branch Teller banking systems support, Voice and PBX support, ATM and Eftpos support, Power & UPS systems and infrastructure support and other IT support work.

Joined BSP in March 2001 as a graduate trainee with the IT Department for a 2 year programe. In August 2001, I was appointed and the Southern Regional Support Officer. I later confirmed as the Team Leader for Highlands Region and relocated to Mt Hagen in May 2002.
