I am an extremely versatile scientist, engineer, manager, educator, and musician. I have very strong analytical and problem solving skills, can absorb new subjects quickly, and can convey scientific / technical content to a variety of audiences - clients, C-level, regulators, etc. I excel at managing and coordinating cross-functional teams via a personable and calm demeanor. These skills make me suitable for a variety of career roles and allow me to provide value wherever my talents are aimed. When I was five years old I saw a documentary about Einstein and the atomic nucleus. I've been hooked ever since. I was the strange kid that wanted to be a nuclear physicist when I grew up. That's exactly what I'm doing!I have over 25 years of experience as a nuclear scientist in industry, and also as a university researcher. I am proficient in the design, calibration, and operation of nuclear measurement instruments and systems. I am an industry-recognized senior expert in gamma-ray spectroscopy, passive / active neutron counting, nuclear waste assay, nuclear threat detection, and safeguards applications.I've always sought opportunities to share my passion for science with the public and to teach at the university level. I currently lecture at Quinnipiac University, and at the Department of Physics at Yale University during their Summer Session. Working with and mentoring students is intensely rewarding to me, and I have received outstanding reviews and feedback from my students and academic departments.From a very young age, I've had an intense passion for music. My primary off-hours gig is playing guitar in a local bluegrass band.
