I hate to admit it but I always liked word problems in school. While others struggled with them, I always seemed to be able to clearly visualize the problem and enjoyed figuring out the answer. While running a company and helping clients is far more complex than a word problem, coming up with answers and solutions gives me the same feeling of satisfaction as getting the right answer to a word problem.Amy Breslin and I originally started the firm that would become Breslin, Young & Slaughter, LLC (BY&S) in 2001 as we thought we could leverage our background in accounting and commercial finance to help both lenders and companies get answers to the problems or challenges they were facing. Healthcare was an industry that I had experience in and focused on, but it became the firm’s primary focus when we added Duke Slaughter in 2009. Today we have grown to a team of over 35 people and we complete over 400 healthcare projects a year. It’s this team of people that is our greatest asset, makes us leaders in healthcare due diligence, and helps us meet our client’s needs year in and year out.
