Dandelion is a home geothermal company that graduated Alphabet's X in Spring 2017. Dandelion offers affordable geothermal installations that make renewable heating, cooling and hot water accessible. Brian is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Dandelion's heat pump performance monitoring and control applications.

• Led the technical and economic evaluation, development, and go-to-market efforts of new energy products and services• Led the engineering of monitoring and controls for aggregated solar generation, battery storage, and home energy demand equipment to provide grid services for utilities, grid operators, and wholesale markets

• Managed SolarCity’s Smart Energy Home product from evaluation through launch

• Led the engineering efforts for the residential energy efficiency retrofitting business• Developed and supported a suite of standardized tools for scaling energy efficiencysales/design/installation services• Designed energy efficient combined-hydronic systems, HVAC systems, pool pumpcontrols, and solar thermal systems for residential and small commercial buildings• Created and maintained the product offerings of each office location across 11 statesand 39 offices

• Designed over 200 energy efficient mechanical systems; including space heating, space cooling, domestic hot water, solar thermal water heating, and ventilation• Championed the in-house execution of advanced hydronic heating and cooling systems as well as net-zero energy projects• Developed an online library of engineering resources and a Design Process Manual used by all designers• Managed the engineering team’s tasks and priorities
