“We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” - Walt DisneyI consider myself a problem solver at heart. My intellectual curiosity drives me to find answers to those pressing questions, all of which boil down to “How does it all work?” Growing up as a Chinese American immigrant child, I was responsible for resolving technological issues when they occurred at home. Often, I found myself hands-on in taking things apart, diagnosing and resolving the issue and then putting it back together. The enjoyment of learning and solving problems led me to my studies in electrical engineering, concentrating on embedded systems at the University of Washington. My favorite project, capstone project, was a voice controlled robotic dog, where I was solving problem of the physical motions of the robot through the design of software solutions that had to meet hardware specifications. After graduation, I joined John Deere as a software engineer where I support the delivery of projects in the end-to-end development of precision agriculture solutions for the Gen 4 CommandCenter™. I’ve learned that my success in product development is a byproduct of a customer mindset and proactive in making decisions that uphold core values of quality and innovation. My childhood passion was the sport of baseball. In college, I volunteered to coach baseball where I discovered my personality of being a people person and a passion to help people achieve their goals. I was connecting high school student athletes to their academic passions in helping them develop their skills for success on and off the field. This motivated me to pursue M.S. dual degree Electrical Engineering/Engineering Management to extend my technical depth and strengthen my leadership skills to better lead people and engineering projects. I aspire to help make business decisions and help my team of engineers be able to do their best work in accomplishing the company’s mission and vision while upholding the core values. My most notable accomplishments:🌟Collaborated with cross-functional team in designing, implementing and presenting an iOS app for yield prediction that was a company-wide hackathon project winner.🌟Facilitated onboarding process and mentoring support for new team members in an intern/rotational role.🌟Lead the migration to virtual team workspace that improved team collaboration during and after the Covid-19 Pandemic.🌟Delivered project demo presentations to key project stakeholders.
