I worked as a summer research intern as a part of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Summer Internship Program with the Pulmonary and Critical Care division where I helped find statistically significant data on sarcoidosis patients' referral time and diagnosis time differences based on race and sex and performed chart abstraction on patients with sarcoidosis to obtain race, sex, diagnosis date, referral date, and organ involvement. This project sparked my interest in public health and healthcare disparities research.

During this time I worked as a remote student researcher where I helped investigate how the tumor microenvironment in patients of color may contribute to the cancer health disparities that exist for acral melanoma and used Excel to analyze different data sets of cell images and used Fiji to analyze western blots.

Worked in the Aging and Wellbeing Psychology Lab as a research assistant where we focused on music intervention research that improves the well-being and health of older adults with dementia and explored the benefits of music intervention on cognition and language in Alzheimer's disease.
