I build confidence and help improve craft for independent filmmakers and screenwriters, advising creatives on everything from script and story to crowdfunding and distribution. I teach classes on pitching, craft, leadership, and producing, and consult with filmmakers at all levels of their careers to help set them up for success.

I developed and teach a six-part workshop for cohort members of the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge to learn how to produce and distribute a short film on a micro budget, and act as point of contact for filmmakers (and documentary crew) once they're in production. I also contributed to various educational materials distributed to the cohort members, aided in the cohort selection process, and acted as the point of contact for the cohort and external partners alike during the production phase.

Alongside Christina Raia, I hosted and produced this practical filmmaking podcast for making great work without playing the Hollywood game that re-contextualizes the ways in which filmmakers emotionally and intellectually approach our careers and our place in culture. Nurturing and building relationships with filmmakers, film organizations, and members of the community who are doing the most interesting and diverse work. Teaching the digital media class for the MFA in Writing and Producing for Television graduate program. Class description: "This introductory course surveys the landscape of new media entertainment. Assessing technologies, strategies, and trends in the industry, students will be exposed to the latest approaches to digital storytelling and why it’s worth a second look even if your ultimate goal is still to write for television. Students will apply their new industry knowledge to the practical development of a new media series with the final output being a bible for the series, a produced 5 minute original pilot for their portfolio, and a better grasp on taking their ideas into their own hands."

I managed and created all educational resources and most communication output for the media startup Stareable. This included but was rarely limited to: helping organize and host live Stareable events (happy hours, presentations, workshops, Stareable Fest), content marketing for the blog and for other publications (interviews with creators, the craft of web series/filmmaking), social media management, moderating and programming events for the community forum, hosting the interview and advice podcast Forget The Box, and helping refine Stareable's product to fit the needs of the filmmaking community we served.I was also the UX copywriter for all parts of the Stareable website, including all transactional email communication, copy on the website onboarding and backend itself, and all marketing materials on or about the platform.

Worked with the digital video team at MTV. Kept track of calendars and cuts of various projects in development both internally and externally, worked with post production lead to make sure updated links to various projects are always available. Wrote pitches and treatments, did extensive research for all of the above.

Temp position, helping the executive assistant to the president of MTV update contact information for the president, Sean Atkins. Performed various other administrative tasks like updating expense reports, booking travel, and making calls. Sat in for a month for the executive assistant to the SVP of MTV research, taking over all assistant tasks like scheduling, organizing meetings, scheduling, and scheduling.

Market and millennial demographic research to assist MTV producers in choosing new themes and topics for new projects.

In addition, I also wrote several news blurbs for various events needing promotion.

I helped students edit and revise their essays, working with them on everything from grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, thesis statements, organization, clarity and introductions and conclusions. I also helped proofread IRB forms for psychology and exercise science majors doing studies with human subjects.

Served coffee and prepped various recipes for the storefront like sandwiches, musubis, teriyaki bowls, fruit cups, and parfaits.

I helped plan the strategy for social media marketing and outreach to consumers. I also made some design and organizational changes to the website.

I worked for the SCORE summer day camp for kids ages 6-13, where I coached them at sports and led other activities throughout the day.

I kept track of all social media websites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and YouTube. I took photos and videos to add to the blog, which I also primarily designed and kept up do date. I filmed, edited, and directed tutorial videos, and also wrote blurbs and guest blogs as needed.
