Manager Iv - Civil Rights Office
I oversee a group of Specialists who investigate employment discrimination complaints. I review the investigations and provide feedback on steps that need to be taken to substantiate or non-substantiate investigations. I also assist the Specialists in interviewing involved parties and gathering evidence. I also facilitate mediations as an alternative to investigations. I supervise a unit of Special Investigators which includes overseeing serious abuse/neglect investigations in areas of physical abuse, sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and child deaths. Assist in locating absent families wanted in child abuse/neglect investigations. Assist in locating missing children that are in state custody. Testify in court as needed and complete report writing. Assist in training of new employees in investigation techniques and report writing.
Special Investigator
I conduct investigations involving serious cases of child abuse and neglect. This includes sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, physical abuse and child deaths. I also search for absent parents, relatives and missing children that are wanted in CPS investigations. I attend autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death of children. I collect evidence from crime scenes and take photos as needed. Investigations may include joint investigations with local police, sheriff's department, Texas Rangers and federal agencies. I assist in training new employees in investigation techniques, report writing and safety. I also testify in court as to the findings of cases and present evidence necessary to support a removal of a child. Enter daily documentation of current cases under investigation.
