Responsible for all financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, as well as providing financial guidance to management and participating in strategic planning.• Developed system of databases, analytical tools, and reports to track production data, labor and overhead spending, commodity sales, and freight and warehousing costs. Information generated is used to conduct trend analysis, support analytical projects and budgeting, and determine areas for potential operational improvements.• Generate monthly pro-forma P&L statements for processing facilities and provide variance analysis against plan and prior year financial performance.• Work closely with manufacturing accounting team to improve existing processes and develop new processes around month-end accounting and inventory valuation.• Develop and improve cost allocation methodologies for raw material costs (joint product costing) and labor and overhead costs (activity based costing and fixed overhead allocations).• Developed entire budget process for Alaska including harvesting, yield and product mix, labor and overhead spending, and gross margin by product form. Responsible for oversight of budget completion and presentation to board of directors.• Created databases and management reports to assist in measuring and improving labor management (hourly wages against standard), maintenance spending as part of a successful cost saving initiative, and product mix (yield & value per MT).• Regularly prepare incremental cost-benefit analysis involving product mix and costs for operating decisions in Alaska and provide guidance to management about alternatives and implications.• Prepare cash flow analysis and payback calculations for major capital investments, including new plant construction, line upgrades, and significant redesign of layout.

Worked with plant and operations managers to understand trends and variances related to production and operating expenses. • Created manufacturing plant budgets and determined overhead cost allocation for different product forms. Ensure accuracy and consistency of bills of materials for each product. • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of month end close process for each manufacturing plant. • Implemented system and processes to help improve manufacturing overhead expense reporting, tracking, and visibility.
