Selling laminate flooring, Mediaware, rugs and Italian design led dining furniture into small outlets throughout the North of England, having initially started as an agent, I was invited to work for the company fulltime, I then sold product into larger multiples, furniture into jewsons/ grahams, media ware product into aldi, as well as a selection of bespoke retailers such as Fenwicks and housing units.

As store manager I was responsible for 7 staff and their training, the store went from £8000 a week to £24000 a week , earning myself recognition and a considerable bonus for achieving the 3rd highest increase in turnover, my duties included staff training and motivation, administrative overseeing, and enduring maximum sales revenue and profit through adding secondary purchases

Initially started as a salesman, trained as an estimator, I quickly moved into lower management as a dept manager and later store manager of their Lancaster store, I then moved into a trainee position as an administrator, which involved assisting store managers to follow and abide by company accounting and management systems. However as the company went into decline in the late 80's the position was removed, I became a floating/relief manager before moving to a different part of the company, seeing out my last 12-18 months at Queensway Preston as an estimator.

Closing leads generated from warm enquiries for home insulation and double glazing, leads generated from a team of 3 canvassers, cold calling and passing leads to myself to close using a 16 page scripted technique.
