Biodiversity conservation is fundamental to human wellbeing, as natural ecosystems provide the goods and services that underpin sustainable development worldwide. USAID’s BRIDGE project builds on lessons learned and impacts generated by many years of USAID initiatives to promote and support efforts to integrate biodiversity conservation into the other key development sectors: Food Security, Global Health, Economic Growth, Democracy, Human Rights, Democracy and Governance, and Climate Change.

  The project’s team members work closely with the USAID Forestry and Biodiversity (FAB) Office on activities that support the Biodiversity Policy, which USAID released in 2014. Working alongside the FAB Office, BRIDGE is specifically engaged in: • Learning from and building upon biodiversity integration opportunities throughout USAID programming;• Improving the evidence base on the linkages between biodiversity preservation and other development outcomes; and• Identifying and engaging constituencies, both internal and external to USAID, to raise awareness, knowledge and spur engagement in order to advance biodiversity integration across the various sectors in development.
