As an Environmental Educator with Butte Environmental Council, I was responsible for managing and facilitating our in-school programming with TK-12th students. I developed the age-appropriate curriculum and materials for large-group presentations on sustainable waste management (ie. compost, recycling, etc.), and coordinated with the local landfill to offer field trips to classes interested in learning more about the waste stream in our county. Additionally, I managed our organizational donor data, overseeing our data migration and developing a strategic fundraising plan, as well as organized our monthly newsletter that incorporated organizational updates and advertised community partner events to help us achieve grant deliverables in accordance with the organization's strategic plan.

The Stop Valley's Edge referendum campaign was the largest referendum effort in Chico's history. We successfully gathered 8,000 signatures to petition the City to rescind their approval of Chico's largest proposed development project and place the issue on the ballot. As Field Coordinator, I developed our signature collection strategy, organized volunteers, and helped manage the field office for the 30-day campaign. Following the referendum, I continued to develop a field plan to Get Out the Vote for the ballot measure campaign, and transitioned out of the role shortly after.

In this role, I curated and managed the campaign’s public image and visual messaging to better engage a broad voter base. I was responsible for coordinating the campaign’s social media strategy and graphics, as well as completing endorsement questionnaires.

As the Organizing Fellow at TakeAction, I engaged our members in public storytelling to leverage lived experience into collective action. I also supported our Climate Justice Organizer in facilitating and developing the agenda for Core Team meetings. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, I also took on the development, implementation, and support of our bi-monthly mutual aid gatherings which seek to build solidarity across class and race, and establish a rapid response approach to disaster relief. This position increased my experience with digital organizing, issue campaigns, electoral campaigning, fundraising, and event planning, as well as challenged my capacity for empathy and deep listening.

As the Urban Agriculture intern, I was responsible for completing daily farm tasks, developing and implementing farm curriculum, as well as supporting youth in their leadership development on the farm, and implementing non-farm related social entrepreneurship curriculum.
