About Bridget Dattilo
I create digital experiences to solve problems for others - working throughout my career across the disciplines of graphic design, instructional design, product design, and product management. Focused in higher education and EdTech, I build products to support training and upskilling.I have 2 core beliefs around product and customer experience:1) The customers are at the center of all I do.2) The medium is indeed the message. (Thank you, Marshall McLuhan!) Design isn't about creating a vehicle or platform for the product. It IS the product itself. I synthesize (not just summarize) customer data and feedback. I use constraints to spark big ideas and execute them. I translate between technical teams and executive teams. I encourage my team to chart a course but also embrace uncertainty. I'm always striving to learn and improve.
Listed skills include Training, Social Media, Product Development, Instructional Design, and 10 others.

Director Of Product
My first large platform project shipped in Spring 2014. A few months before, we decided we were ready to develop a recurring revenue stream at Academic Impressions. So I designed and implemented the initial user experience for our membership product - which now serves thousands of users and accounts for the majority of our business. Since shifting my focus exclusively to platform, I have:-Supervised and worked with small teams of designers and engineers to accomplish big outcomes-Built custom event registration platforms and even a learning management system to administer and report on customer learning experiences-Supervised the development and implementation of accessibility standards to ensure all users can benefit from our learning experiences -Instituted common product management practices to improve operations and outcomes, including product roadmapping and agile methodologies-Actively engaged in customer research, sales, and retention efforts to continually feed insights into overall product improvement
Director Of Online Training And Development
In 2009, I was promoted to Director of Online Training and Development to take Academic Impressions' online products to the next level. In this role, I:-Developed standards and metrics for the online training product line-Interviewed hundreds of customers and analyzed thousands of surveys to deduce patterns in our overall product experience-Advised others on the design of their conferences and webinars-Coached hundreds of subject matter experts to improve the design and delivery of their content to meet learning outcomes-Piloted, improved, and scaled new product types within the organization - including eLearning, microlearning, and video courses.
Learning And Development Manager
In 2008, I began my tenure as a Learning and Development Manager, developing and facilitating up to 20 in-person or online professional development experiences annually for higher education faculty and administrators. I have always been interested in how technology fuels product, so I gravitated towards online learning experiences.
Teacher
In 2004, I auditioned to become a teacher at Kaplan Test Prep. I've always loved facilitating experiences for groups, and I began teaching SAT and ACT prep to high schoolers that Fall. I consistently earned high marks from students for my teaching effectiveness and went on to teach dozens of courses on a part-time basis over the next 7 years.
Academic Manager
After finishing my masters degree at University of Denver, I moved into the full-time role of Academic Manager. I built capacity in teachers. I administered visas for international students. I also developed action plans for students to help them meet their goals - including licensure for nursing students and medical residents.
Student Advisor
From 2005-2007, I expanded my part-time role with Kaplan to include that of Student Adviser. I honed my frontline customer service skills, helping customers register and pay for their courses and ensuring smooth center operations on nights and weekends. I learned for the first time just how far empathy and genuine curiosity could take me in improving the customer experience.
