Interning at Southern Cross Austereo leveraged my knowledge and understanding of the research aspect behind the radio space of the entertainment industry. I got to experience being involved in a team that works within one of Brisbane's most popular radio stations, and learn what it takes to survive in a fast-paced workplace. I was also embraced by a supportive work culture that further enhanced my networking and relationship-building skills.My roles and responsibilities within my internship position included:- Working on national client briefs/requests on a day to day basis- Responding to advertisers’ challenges and objectives using a range of media research tools- Learning how to turn ‘data’ into ‘insight’- Working independently and collaboratively within the Client Insights & Effectiveness team to learn the art of storytelling and communicating in presentations- Writing bespoke surveys about radio, media and also industry specific surveys in multiple client industries- Looking at industry data in order to write client reports- Analysing nation wide market research and consumer behaviour to learn about consumption methods and the demand for live streaming and podcasting
