I am an undergraduate student at the University of British Columbia studying Oceanography and Geology.I am invested in creating a better future for the next generation with much of my focus being about how to improve and protect the environment around us. I chose to pursue Oceanography and Geology as my field of study because I have always been drawn to the beauty of the ocean from when I was a young child. The University of British Columbia's Earth and Ocean Sciences Department has shown me how wonderful Earth Sciences can be. I am so privileged to be able to work and study in Vancouver, so close to the ocean and mountains.In high school I was fortunate enough to be able to participate in my school's comprehensive music program. I am a flute player, but I had originally played the piano and trombone. Music is one of my passions and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to grow and engage with my school community through music. I hope to continue playing throughout my life and enjoy music wherever I end up. I am currently a part of the UBC concert winds ensemble where I am able to perform with a group of other students passionate about music.
