My version includes being fulfilled, passionate and able to find that success with integrity. Not compromising values yet finding common ground. Being driven yet aware. Productive but still enthusiastic.As a Manager at CED, one of the nation’s largest electrical wholesalers, I have the privilege of running my own business with the financial support of our parent company. Think small business with the security of a large corporation. Decisions are made where it impacts customers and employees the most, at each branch by the manager. As in any small business, the person responsible for the bottom line is involved in every aspect: business development, forecasting, purchasing, personnel, inventory control, contract negotiation, mentoring, vendor relations. But it really comes down to three core necessities: profitability, team commitment and, most importantly, customer satisfaction. I enjoy the ability of being directly involved in servicing our customers and to positively affect the outcome of something that we could have done better. By promoting a team culture, I have given our customers exceptionally high expectations of what we are capable of, which is to grow our business around the needs of theirs. Being the person to help them define that need is even better, and it’s what I do best. The pride in my career accomplishments is only exceeded by my kids, both of whom attend Michigan State University. They have inspired me in countless ways and involved me in worlds I never expected (if you’ve ever been involved in travel ice hockey or competitive cheer we’ve probably met at some ridiculous place at some ridiculous hour).
