I was primarily responsible for overseeing the operations of the business and its event and programme offerings, including the coordination of the DiverseNZ Inc initiative. New skills I developed along this journey included business and programme development, supplier management, content development, forward planning, financial management, writing and social media.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short stint being back with AUT colleagues, organising logistics and being on the ground at the AUT Business School's Matariki Festival Event - to recognise the Māori New Year. This contract included stakeholder relationship management, event design, set-up and hosting.

Working within a socio-economically deprived area, I was fortunate to be a part of a values based team, who provided health services for a diverse range of cultures within a rural community. I developed strong communication and relationship building skills, advanced computer skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise work in a highly pressurised and time poor environment.

This was an exciting opportunity that came out of a university internship. As a virtual start-up, we worked to develop and sell educational computer games based on the New Zealand Secondary School Curriculum. This role held responsibility for the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of students. It included mentoring, mediation, accountability for fire evacuation and first aid; management of events, activities and social occasions; enforcement of rules and regulations.
