This ranged from lighting and fabric selection, to using AutoCAD to detail custom furniture and granite surfaces. I led and worked with residents of the shelter to design and execute a large-scale, multi-wall mural.

I worked within the Real Estate and Property Management team to maintain renter and property developer satisfaction, as well as attract new clients and renters through marketing campaigns. I developed strong communication skills through direct interaction with potential renters, finding properties in our inventory to match their needs. Additionally, I made frequent trips on site, both showing properties to potential renters and meeting with contractors and property owners to analyze and survey properties for redevelopment. While at Newport, I also worked with the property redevelopment team to transform newly obtained properties, which included kitchen and bath design and specification.

While studying abroad in London during the winter of 2008, I interned with Grapes Associates. This opportunity broadened my exposure to design on an international level while giving me professional experience. In this small scale hospitality design firm, I worked closely with the owner and lead designers on all levels of the design process.
