My goal is to help people enjoy life through their own integrated, well-working body. I use hands-on manual therapy and simple movement exercises to help people restore posture, build proprioception and move with greater ease and efficiency. I am happy to share my new venture, The Working Body, LLC: Structural Integration in the Rolf method. After almost 20 years in the environmental and non-profit worlds, I began my training in September 2021 at The New School of Structural Integration. My instructors follow the lineage of Dr. Ida Rolf and her student Joseph Heller. The program is certified by the International Association of Structural Integrators (IASI). Structural Integration was developed by Dr. Rolf in the mid-twentieth century as a way to restore the body – and mind – to optimal function and health using fascial manipulation and movement education. It is a holistic and systematic form of bodywork traditionally delivered in a series of 10 sessions, each one with a specific purpose building on the previous session. Through work on connective tissue, or fascia, it relieves muscular tension and strain on joints for better posture, balance, coordination and pain-free range of motion with increased strength and control.
