In high school, I discovered my passion for the theatre by doing lighting and set design. I even tried acting on stage for a little while, but my true love was designing and building sets. That's why I decided to study architecture - I thought it would be a great way to build the "fourth wall" of the theatre. After graduating, I worked on a wide variety of architectural projects, such as commercial buildings, super high-rise towers, convention centers, and community and city master planning. However, my career took a life-changing turn when I was assigned to work on a healthcare project. As an air-force bratt, it was pretty amazing that my introduction to healthcare architecture was through a Veteran's Affairs hospital and I discovered how I could contribute to my community.It is a highly fulfilling experience for me to collaborate with clinicians who focus on delivering patient-centered care. As an architect and medical planner, I'm passionate about design that integrates clinical needs and human experience to enhance the experience for patients, families, and staff and transform healing spaces.
