-Organized and taught four chemistry courses for the Weekend College at Hiram College.-Spring semester 2009, Fall semester 2011: taught "Chemistry in Context: An Environmental Perspective." The course included 4 hours of lecture and 2 hours of laboratory experiments taught biweekly.-Fall semester 2010, Summer semester 2012: taught "The Chemistry of Life." This course included 4 hours of lecture biweekly (fall) or fours hours weekly (summer).-I developed, taught, and graded all courses myself, with only an undergraduate lab assistant to help in setting up and assisting with the laboratory portion of the course.

I completed a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the School of Medicine. My most recent research focused on the role of myocardial insulin resistance in the cardioprotection seen with high fat diet feeding in rodent heart failure. Other past research projects focused on cardiac myofilament modifications in short-term diminished cardiac perfusion and regulation of a transcription factor important in cholesterol synthesis.
