Ever since I was 15, working my first job at McDonald’s, I have been passionate about helping people. I have worked in the hospitality industry for most of my working life, from fast-food, to hotels, to amusement parks, it is something I have always enjoyed. Getting to know people and create relationships, even for just a moment, is something I really enjoy. Which is one of the reasons I choose to pursuit furthering my education in human resources. After choosing to go into human resources, I always told myself that I wanted to be the “go-to” person no matter what position I held or will hold. I want my co-workers to be able to come to me with anything and everything. I believe that a company’s biggest asset is their employees. I fully believe that if a company takes care of their employees, the employees will take care of their company. However, I am not naïve and I understand that this is not always the case. I’m the type of person who tries to be a very positive person and always look for good in every situation. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of being able to work and go to college, which has led me to gaining skills and experiences. My most recent position as an HR Assistant has allowed me to gain experience in talent management, payroll, file management, Microsoft Excel, employee handbook creation, policy development, coaching, and training. This position has allowed me to work on shaping skills such as communication, confidentiality, problem solving, organization, and attention to details.
