Bridgett Johnson has experience in planning and developing communications and public relations strategies for non-profit organizations. Her skills include media relations, event planning, script writing, graphic designing and social media managing. Bridgett Johnson is currently a Communications Specialist with the Georgia School Boards Association, a non-profit organization focused on supporting Public Education and school board members throughout the state. Striving to be a well-rounded professional, she holds many responsibilities at GSBA, which include, graphic designing, web and content managing, event coordinating, video editing and assisting with social media. Bridgett received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Certification in New Media from The University of Georgia. While studying at UGA, Bridgett was a member of the university’s Bateman Case Study Competition team sponsored by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Her team’s grassroots campaign for the 2010 U.S. Census lasted 8 months and included duties of conducting surveys, analyzing results, and building relationships through community engagement programs. Bridgett and her campaign team won the PRSSA National Bateman Case Study Competition, and they were also awarded a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil in the government category for events and observances of more than seven days.Bridgett participated in a variety of internships and activities that ultimately shaped her interest in non-profit public relations. She provided public relations and communications support to the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, and the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach at the University of Georgia. Bridgett is planning to obtain her Master’s degree in Online Interactive Media in the near future.
