Chattanooga, Tennessee Area

Served as the local project manager of Thrive 2055, managing a team of national consultants and local volunteer leaders for a 16-county regional growth initiative for the tri-state Chattanooga region of Tenn., Ga., and Ala. Managed these interdisciplinary professional teams to successfully complete a 3-year regional planning effort. In October 2015, led the transition of a programmatic planning initiative to a stand alone, incorporated organization (Thrive Regional Partnership) governed by a regional Board of Trustees to advance the tristate Chattanooga regional vision of educated people with good jobs living in a great place.

Chattanooga, Tn

Spearheaded her own consulting firm focused on the revitalization of historic core districts by working with communities across the state of Tennessee to build strong revitalization programs and develop economic incentive tools for businesses and property development. She partnered with the Nation Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center to further Main Street's Four Point Approach (TM) across the state. As a result, communities have workable plans of action in place, optimized tax increment financing districts for their downtown areas, and organizational missions in place to sustain a long-term revitalization strategy for their communities.

Johnson City, Tennessee

Led and directed a quasi-governmental agency also serving as the local Main Street organization, certified by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Tennessee Main Street Program. As a result, she created the city's first comprehensive tax increment financing district, its first downtown redevelopment loan pool program funded by 8 local banks, statewide changes to legislation enabling the development authority to optimally use tax increment financing on a nationally competitive scale, and oversaw and contributed to the completion of the downtown master plan.

Nashville, Tennessee

Served both houses of the Tennessee General Assembly, analyzing the state of Tennessee's multi-billion dollar budget and programs with a specialty focus on economic development, transportation, tourism, environment and conservation, and agriculture. As a result of her collaborative teamwork with members of legislative staff, legislators and the Comptroller and Treasurer of the state of Tennessee, an alternative budget to the failed income tax proposal by the executive branch was executed, and clarity of the programs and budgets proposed by executive departments was brought to members of the General Assembly for their deliberative decision-making.
