Instructional designer, trainer, and career coach with a passion for designing and developing impactful, engaging, and creative instruction and training for diverse audiences. Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.Soft skills are necessary and evident through my interpersonal communication engagement, communicating through written and verbal methods, having the ability to be adaptable, understanding the need for self-regulation and self-management as it relates to emotional intelligence in the workplace, and understanding the importance of teamwork and true leadership. My experience and skills have certainly morphed through the years, but one thing has remained constant: I want to be helpful. If there are training needs, I want to help develop the curriculum and lead the training. If there are areas where the curriculum for students needs to be tweaked, developed, or created, I want to be part of the solution. I have had the opportunity to lead a few different types of training: Diversity, Personality Types, New Employee Orientation, Fundamental Computer, FERPA, Emotional Intelligence, Resilience, and small portions of Customer Service training. I have learned about many areas of training, and have used the knowledge I've obtained through my undergraduate studies (B.A. in Communication & Information Sciences) and my master's studies in Consumer Quality Management, as well as working towards completing an MA in Instructional Technology. Using the education and work experience I've obtained over the years, I have also had the opportunity to help coordinate and lead pieces of training for office/clerical employees as well as administrative professional employees. I’ve also coordinated and led Bama Bound Sessions (new student orientation) for incoming freshmen and transfer students. I have considered a training consultant and/or college professor trajectory and while that is still of major interest to me, I have missed academic advising and coaching, and interpersonal interaction with students and student groups. My current interests are primarily in the design process for all types of learning content - whether eLearning, Mobile Learning, Game-Based Learning, or Face-to-Face Learning. Ultimately, I just want to be useful in helping others find their potential.

Complete Florida Coach - Complete Florida - Innovation Institute - University Of West FloridaUniversity Of West Florida - Innovation Institute Sep 2015 - Jul 2019Pensacola, Florida AreaAs a Complete Florida Coach, I have the honor of communicating with people who have started work toward their college degree but for whatever reason(s) "stopped out". Once someone makes the decision to return to school and submits an application to Complete Florida, a coach reaches out to them and helps with their next steps. A Complete Florida Coach helps pinpoint any issues or obstacles that may be in the way of degree completion and helps come up with ways to push through. As a coach, I am able to talk with students who need help finding a school, a program, and a schedule that fits their lifestyle, and that's what I try to do! I'm here to help these students from the beginning of the process to completion of their degree.
