The Arizona Justice Project is a non-profit organization that works on post-conviction criminal cases, pro bono. We work on cases where a person has a claim of innocence or manifest injustice. Interns research cases which includes: reviewing trial transcripts, police reports, medical reports, interviewing witnesses, tracking down evidence for DNA testing, drafting motions, filing public records requests and conducting legal research. Interns also meet with prospective clients in prison and conduct legal calls. Interns also draft memos on various cases and conduct presentations on the case and what to do next.
