………………….WEARER OF MANY HATS…………………General Counsel • Adjunct Professor of Law • Former Rock Station DJ • Former White House Staffer I've worn many hats in my career: from a White House staffer, to a law firm partner, and even to a professional DJ at a rock-and-roll station. I now wear the hat of General Counsel of the City of Middletown and also don one as an adjunct professor of law. In my role as GC, I oversee all of the city's legal, human resources, and insurance and benefits matters. As an adjunct professor, I teach Local Government Law, drawing on my real-world experiences as a municipal attorney. Prior to becoming General Counsel of Middletown, I was one of the youngest City Attorneys in the history of Lansing, Michigan. There I focused on transformative redevelopment projects to help breathe new life into the capital city. I took on the role of City Attorney after my time at Honigman, one of the state's leading law firms. At Honigman, I focused on managing complex civil litigation, a subject I also taught as an adjunct professor of law.Before entering law, I was fortunate to serve as a White House staffer and, prior to that, I was actually a professional DJ at "Rock 103" WIQB FM.I've worked hard throughout my career and in my schooling as well. I was able to graduate from Harvard Law School cum laude. There, I won the Williston Prize for outstanding negotiation skills and later went on to teach negotiation through the Harvard Program of Instruction for Lawyers. I'm also a proud Wolverine, having received my undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction from the University of Michigan.My proudest accomplishment of all, though, is being a dad to two amazing boys, Kai and Grayson, who live with me here in Middletown.
