Brigadier General (Ret) Norm West has extensive leadership experience. His first eight years served were as a U.S. Navy Corpsman assigned to the Marine Corps. Norm West has led and commanded at the Squadron, Group, and Joint Task Force levels. He was Commander of Task Force Medical – Afghanistan and the Commander of the Craig Joint Theater Hospital, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Norm West led a unified medical command consisting of 873 US Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as Coalition partners from 14 nations at forty-nine medical hospitals and trauma centers throughout Afghanistan with a remarkable casualty survival rate of 97.9%. He commanded the 412th Medical Group, Edwards Air Force Base, capturing the Air Force Materiel Command’s “Best Clinic” and “Best Dental Clinic”.
