My mission is to create a world where music performance and creation is a realistic, financially viable, and respected profession. In a fast changing industry, I strive to keep the human component intact while embracing the new and exciting tools that technology has to offer to us. I am an experienced music industry professional with a demonstrated history of working in diverse aspects of arts and culture. I have been in the Bay Area since 2004 working as a professional vocalist, vocal coach, songwriter, non-profit arts administrator, production manager, and executive assistant. I have extensive experience in concert production, tour management, audio recording, web design, program curation, project management, community building, teaching, marketing, social media management, multi-cultural music performance, fundraising, and office management. My first job in the entertainment industry was working as Tim Boyle's second engineer for films such as Starship Troopers and Money Talks. The diverse responsibilities in these jobs honed my already detail oriented and dynamic personality. I founded and ran a boutique record label called Waxsimile Productions from 2014 until 2021. We released seven albums in that time. During the COVID lockdown, I teamed up with other Bay Area queer artists to produce the online music festival, I Need Space, and founded a queer musician collective called the Wax Collective. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA where I got an early start in music. As the child of two music industry veterans, I always knew that being a musician was not just a calling, but part of my DNA. I began writing songs right when I was 12 years old and attended the College of Santa Fe to study Music Performance & Composition. It was here that my musical journey took an unexpected turn. I discovered the rich traditional folk music of the Balkans and quickly became a student of the voice and of traditional singing styles. This study led me to many years of performing with Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble, Brass Menažeri Balkan Brass Band, and True Life Trio. Since mid-2021, I have been focusing my energy on developing myself as an artist and music teacher. My new album Heartbreak Residue is being released April 21, 2023. My songs are compelling reminders that healing and redemption are coming. With gritty, vulnerable lyrics, pristine vocals, and driving playing on my antique Gibson J45, my 90s rock-tinged songs center the truth-telling power of the human voice.
