While focusing the majority of his efforts in the LATAM private equity space, Briggs reconnected with his passion for the entertainment space, partnering and expanding Euphoria as an EDM music festival in Central Texas. During this time he helped grow the annual festival from 1,500 to over 20,000 attendees, hosting 110 artists across 4 stages in 2017 alone, and hosting events in Texas, Alaska, and South Africa. Recognizing a deep need for tech innovation to support the industry, Briggs was ultimately inspired here to found Unknown Ventures to help grow nascent entertainment-tech focused startups.

Realizing the potential of live music festivals, Briggs co-founded Waterloo to bring Rock & Roll, Americana, and Jam Bands to the masses in Central Texas.

After graduating, Briggs entered the realm of private equity, going on to manage a $150MM AUM fund in the Real Estate, Food & Beverage, and Consumer Brands space. Here he gained valuable experience in emerging markets investing, bringing high-end Italian marketplace Eataly to Brazil and growing sales for the company to R$30MM in sales. In addition to Eataly’s success, the fund oversaw the expansion of ~200 restaurants and stores, created over 3,000 jobs and grew to R$500MM in sales under Briggs’ management.

Briggs’ founded his first company as a sophomore attending the University of Denver. Recognizing an opportunity to enter the entertainment space on campus, he was inspired to build Live Red as a concert promoter, facilitating special events, fraternity parties, and production support for large-scale events.

While completing his undergrad in Finance & Economics, Briggs went to hone his knowledge of investment strategy for a family office based in Chicago; working for a hedge fund with $2B AUM in the Telecom, Energy and Materials space. During his tenure he spent his time between due diligence and index fund trading; providing research, quantitative modeling, market evaluations and capitalizations for the firm.
