My responsibilities included the management, design and implementation of traffic management schemes and environmental improvement projects, with a detailed knowledge of various types of public consultation. Key projects include:North West Local Centres (BCC) - Project Manager on a £3M scheme to upgrade seven local shopping centres for Birmingham City Council. The improvement works included new paving materials, street furniture and landscaping works. The funding for the scheme was from the European Regional Development Fund and Advantage West Midlands.Local Area Safety Schemes (BCC) - Project Manager on a number of Area Wide traffic management schemes each worth £¼M. The schemes involved extensive public consultation and preparation of contract documents based on the ICE 7th Edition Conditions of Contract.Dudley Road & Chester Road Major Annex E Schemes (BCC) - Assistant PM preparing feasibility designs on two £15M route studies to relieve congestion. The work involved preparing feasibility designs for road widening, dual carriageways, junction improvements (including a Hamburger junction). This information was then presented to the public and used in Annex E submissions to the Department for Transport to approve the funding.Cradley Heath Bypass (Sandwell) - Design Team Leader on the design development of a £8M Town Centre bypass, including the design of a surface water attenuation tank.Blackheath Bypass (Sandwell) - New £2.25M town centre bypass including the detailed design of the drainage, kerbing, signage, road lining, safety barriers, accommodation works and a public car park.
