I joined SAS Institute in 2012 bringing 15 years of helping marketers make better business decisions by leveraging data and analytics. At SAS, I lead a team that consults with marketing departments and organizations of all sizes to help them solve tangible business problems leveraging technology and data. We are responsible the strategy and execution of enterprise software sales related marketing technology. During my time at SAS we have been rated by analysts as industry leaders in the marketing and customer intelligence space.Since the late 1990’s, I have worked with several technology companies focused on analytics and marketing automation. My experience spans multiple industries and disciplines including customer intelligence, social media, database marketing, email marketing, analytics, business intelligence, econometrics and market research. As a frequent speaker at industry events I have been quoted in publications such as Forbes, USA Today, Mashable, and the New York Times. I was a recipient of the Advertising Research Foundation’s Great Minds in Innovation Award in 2011 for creating an analytical measurement index to evaluate the success of advertising campaigns during the 2011 Super Bowl. My education includes a BA from Western New England University and a MA in Economics from Penn State University. My interest in analytics and data goes back to graduate school where my thesis was titled, “An Empirical Analysis of Collusion in the Free Agent Labor Market for Major League Baseball Players” and combined my love of sports with analytics. My career started as a statistical research analyst and economist within the United States Federal Reserve System. While at the Federal Reserve, Scott focused on topics related to antitrust, regulation and compliance of Financial Institutions. Scott’s diverse combination of education and experience provides an ideal mix of strategic thinking and tactical problem solving.
