I joined SAS Institute in 2012 bringing 15 years of helping marketers make better business decisions by leveraging data and analytics. My experience spans multiple industries and disciplines including customer intelligence, social media, database marketing, email marketing, analytics, business intelligence, econometrics and market research. I was a recipient of the Advertising Research Foundation’s Great Minds in Innovation Award in 2011 for creating an analytical measurement index to evaluate the success of advertising campaigns during the 2011 Super Bowl. My education includes a BA from Western New England University and a MA in Economics from Penn State University. My interest in analytics and data goes back to graduate school where my thesis was titled, “An Empirical Analysis of Collusion in the Free Agent Labor Market for Major League Baseball Players” and combined my love of sports with analytics. My career started as a statistical research analyst and economist within the United States Federal Reserve System. While at the Federal Reserve, Scott focused on topics related to antitrust, regulation and compliance of Financial Institutions. Scott’s diverse combination of education and experience provides an ideal mix of strategic thinking and tactical problem solving.
