At heart I am an organiser, adept and experienced at planning, managing and executing complex projects, conferences and events. With a background in journalism, media and PR, for the past 15 years I have specialised in project management for international foundation programmes and donor-funded initiatives with a focus on the media sector in Africa. I established and managed the Wits China-Africa Reporting Project housed within the Journalism Department at Wits University and have organised dozens of workshops and conferences across Africa with the KAS Media Programme Sub-Sahara Africa. I have a Masters in Journalism and during the course of my career have worked as a reporter in a newsroom, a media officer for a UK government agency, a writer and account manager for a PR agency and editorial marketing manager at a top women's magazine. I believe in the value of facilitating productive exchanges and am passionate about good story-telling, truth-seeking and defending the watchdog role of the media as an essential element in developing the potential of our continent.
