As the Director of Operations and Board Secretary with the Energy Council of Canada I initiated, implemented, and managed all operations of the organization. I managed all financial and administrative matters, contract negotiation, policy maintenance, funding and partnership relations, and staff oversight and support. I facilitated and contributed to all business development opportunities, strategic plans, and project proposals in consultation with the organization’s president and Board of Directors. Additionally, I provided regular reporting of all operations and finances to the Board of Directors, including recommendations for next steps.AccomplishmentsTransformed the Energy Council of Canada’s administration, corporate governance, and financial management systems to more effectively achieve its goals set by the Board of Directors, and the execution by the management team.Grew the Canadian Energy Person of the Year award and gala into the most prestigious Canadian energy sector recognition of its leaders (currently on hold due Covid 19).Executed Canada’s most wide ranging and comprehensive cross-Canada energy policy dialogues, leading up to Canada hosting the World Energy Congress (the most successful Congress in the history of the World Energy Council).Established the successful Young Energy Professionals Network in Canada.Established a strong and effective Energy Council secretariate, staffed by exceptional team members.
