I always thought my dream was to be a film director and a freelance copywriter. It seemed like an appropriate dream given my BA in Film Directing and Script Writing. I recently gravitated toward advertising and copywriting positions and even started my own advertising business. I love selling brands. I hate selling myself. So here's six quick things about me and my work. In, out, nobody gets hurt.1.)My most recent job was an interpreter role at a car rental company. where I was responsible for interpreting and translating from English to french and from french to English for clients from French-speaking countries. My fluency in French coupled with my friendly and professional conversational skills helps me to interact with all classes of clientele. I am also exceptional at meeting customer needs even when they aren’t sure what they want.2.) I've created Ad concepts for great brands. My longtime creative partner, Abdul Mohamed Majeed, and I have produced work for Voltic Togo. GTP. VLISCO. ACCRA CITY HOTEL. XPOSEAFRIQUE, KEMPISKY HOTEL, VODAFONE. ... And we've gotten to schmooze with the leaders of these fine companies. Quite a rush.3.) I'm a digital junkie. I love every freaking thing about the web.4.) I got my job in advertising in an unusual way. My first short film called "ANATHEMA'' landed in an advertising agency and I simply got a call to start work as a writer at the agency.5.) It's powerful to connect with people over the things that make us human, vulnerable, imperfect.6.) This is how I sum up my job. I help people fall in love with brands. Help agencies win new business. Build trust with clients to help their brands skyrocket. Period. Exclamation point.7.) I don't like to advertise this fact, but I'd do this job for free. It's my passion. Also, aside from Translating/advertising/writing, I'm completely unemployable!
