 Prepared the company for sale and helped successfully sell the company to IHS for $135mm. Responsible for all strategic alliances, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Helped pivot the company, from one-dimensional b2b directory website, to a b2b e-media company, with 70 e-newsletters, online tradeshows, Twitter feeds, news, alerts, community, etc., enabling $5-10 million in new ad revenue. As the only lawyer in the company, I acted as the de facto General Counsel, negotiated & drafted all agreements, updated privacy policy & TOS, and provided all legal advice.

 Managed team of 13 people responsible for structuring, negotiating and closing over 400 deals per year, for AOL Media (over 75 different brands and websites), generating hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising revenue, and enabling the launch of approximately 30 new websites per year. Increased revenues by over $50 million per year by renegotiating existing deals. Cut costs by over $100 million per year by restructuring existing agreements, terminating unprofitable relationships, and switching to alternative providers where appropriate.  Personally negotiated and closed many high profile deals, including: (1) first of their kind embedded video deals with Hulu (NBC & Fox), ABC and CBS, making AOL the first portal to have full length primetime TV content from all 4 major networks; (2) deals for the production of original animated series starring Warren Buffett, Martha Stewart, Gisele Bündchen and the late Carl Sagan; (3) Games.com domain name acquisition; and (4) several cornerstone deals to enable the launch of AOL India. Advised internal clients on overall digital strategy, marketing, and a wide variety of operational issues, including search engine optimization (SEO), revenue optimization, content syndication and distribution (including creation of APIs, widgets and iPhone applications), and paid content & subscription services. Awarded patent #7988560, for integrating video highlights into a fantasy football game
