Program & Project Types: Medium UAS, Military Type Certification (MTC), Preliminary-MTC, Airworthiness Releases (AWR), Interim Flight Clearances (IFC), Specific Operational Risk Assessments (SORA)Leaning on the Airworthiness (AW) excellence previously brought to AV by the sUAS AW team, I’ve stood up an Airworthiness team within the medium UAS (MUAS) division of AV. Current activities and projects span support on Requests for Proposal, Design for Safety & Airworthiness, Airworthiness and Safety Artifacts (CDRLs), and Airworthiness Flight Releases & Clearances.1. Request for Proposal (RFP) Response for Programs of Record activities• Authoring core narratives for Airworthiness & Safety elements of RFP documents• Authoring CDRLs: Airworthiness Qualification Management Plans, Airworthiness CONOPs, Airworthiness Qualification Plans, Safety Cases, Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis• Creating Basis of Estimate (BOE) for Airworthiness programs and advising executive leadership on airworthiness strategy2. Design for Safety & Airworthiness for Engineering Efforts• Researched and established a core set of Airworthiness & Safety Requirements for Internal Research and Development (IRAD)• Partnered with Systems Engineering (SE) to utilizing SE methodology for requirements documentation & execution• Added airworthiness-level fidelity to engineering artifact templates• Advising technical team on Airworthiness Approach for Open Modular Systems Approach (MOSA) and facilitating MOSA-relevant Interface Control Drawing (ICD) creation3. Airworthiness Artifact Development• Identified and templatized core Airworthiness Documentation needed for Airworthiness ProgramsAirworthiness Team Establishment4. MUAS Airworthiness Division• Established communication within MUAS division and across global AV• Utilized Confluence and SharePoint to create a source of truth for MUAS Airworthiness• Created RACI Matrix to formalize airworthiness involvement in MUAS activities

To support the need for Airworthiness Expertise in the growing Uncrewed Aircraft System industry, I established a consultant business to provide advice and capacity to execute on airworthiness deliverables. This consulting business has supported FAA-facing certification efforts and a defense effort for an Army Future Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (FTUAS) program.I am currently responding to past colleague requests for airworthiness & safety support that do not conflict with my current, primary employment.
