As a dynamic Fermentation Scientist, I have a significant skillset in resolving issues during the start-up phase and preparation of technology transfer reports for fermentation processes. I am adept at scaling up and down processes, identifying areas for improvement, and executing projects collaboratively. As part of my duties, I was responsible for bridging the gap between challenges faced in commercial plant settings and lab-scale trials, providing coaching and development to technicians and trainees. I bring a wealth of expertise as an Industrial Microbiologist, backed by a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences. My professional journey has been centered around biotechnology and fermentation, where I specialize in orchestrating large-scale industrial fermentations, some scaling up to 500,000 m3, utilizing both batch and fed-batch processes. Within this realm, I served as a technical linchpin, aiding operations by employing advanced methodologies like microscopy, contamination screening, and in situ metagenomic sequencing. These tools were instrumental in nurturing a sterile fermentation environment to maintain optimal titer and product yields. Additionally, I leveraged benchtop bioreactors for R&D project testing, facilitating seamless transitions to larger production reactors. My proficiency also extends to analytical science, utilizing instruments such as HPLC, GC, Gallery Discrete Analyzer, NIR Spectrometry, and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. As a QA/QC Laboratory Analyst, I conducted method validation and the generation of precise data, which was pivotal for monitoring critical control parameters throughout fermentations and downstream processing campaigns, ultimately upholding stringent product specifications and quality standards.
