Not only a skilled artist and designer, Brina is a seasoned business leader with solid experience solving complex issues and strategically growing a brand. Brina served as CEO of The Younique Boutique, inc. for over a decade. Her passion for art and design coupled with a love of technology made an ecommerce gift boutique the perfect fit for her diverse skill set. Prior to founding The Younique Boutique, she worked as a software interface designer for Shea Homes, Franchise.com and iVillage.Brina created a consumer web startup called StokeBox where members trade up boxes of their best, gently used and outgrown stuff. As founder and CEO, Brina led StokeBox to win 3rd Place at Startup Weekend San Diego 2012 and become a semifinalist at the San Diego Venture Group's prestigious PitchFest 2012.Formerly, she served as Chief Technology Officer for Bay Area based PopUpsters, a marketplace to connect vendors, artisans and makers of all kinds to unique and affordable places to start and grow their businesses. PopUpsters was a member of the Summer 2014 cohort at Tumml.Currently, Brina works as Director of Digital Communications with the Ammar Campa-Najjar for Congress campaign. A sense of civic duty and community pride initially led her to the campaign. After founding the organization Flip Ca 50th shortly after the 2016 presidential election, Brina made a strong impression in her district by hosting a series of voter town halls, endorsement events, placing several billboards and eventually going on to work directly with the campaign. Brina holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from San Diego State, University. She was a 2012-2013 Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program in San Diego and a mentor with Startup Weekend San Diego. Additionally, she is a fellow with OFA (Organizing for Action).
