Global Concerns India is a community-based not-for-profit organisation working on Human Rights with spl. reference to children, women, and youth, from vulnerable and poor communities in Karnataka and Tamizh. Nadu. We focus on addressing domestic and gender-based violence, community participation in local governance through dialogue action transformational leadership programs, and work against human trafficking for forced/bonded labour, sexual servitude, and other forms of slavery. Networking with government, legal services, and allied civil society organizations forms part of the work towards women and children from marginalized and Dalit communities to access justice and entitlements, as envisaged in the Indian Constitution. Working with children and young people to access education and lifelong learning opportunities forms the crux of our work in urban slums and rural areas.

I spearhead programs related to women & child rights, work on training elected represntatives in village panchayats towards good accountable governnace. I also spearhead actions related to work against commercial sexual exploitation of women & children and against all forms of trafficking. I facilitate training workshops on related issues and also provide support/consultation to individuals/organsiations on related issues.

I was instrumental in pioneering Makkala Sahaya Vani and was heading the Unit. The team was responsible and committed to responding to crisis and distress calls from children and families for 12 hours everyday!
