The students in this consulting group have the unique capability of implementing the skills they have learned in the classroom in a real-world business setting. The businesses are real, and the students are tracking the progress of the business and remaining in communication with the owners. The on-campus UA students in HERD provide the advisory services through e-mail, telephone and Skype. The students provide advice on all aspects of the business including: (1) marketing, (2) financing, (3) supply chain and logistics, and (4) management.The consulting group is strengthened and sustained through the Study Aboard program. The Study Abroad program serves to (1) train and educate the entrepreneurs so they can start-up their businesses, (2) identify the best candidates to receive free services from this student organization, (3) evaluate and report on the results of the student consulting services by visiting the businesses, (4) provide valuable feedback to the consulting group through the first-hand visits, and (5) develop and maintain the personal relationships that are necessary for business and learning to succeed in the Haitian culture.Duties:• Consult directly with aspiring Haitian entrepreneurs helping them create, launch, and establish their small businesses• Teach business skills, critical thinking skills, and entrepreneurial mindset to more than 30 Haitian students in a culturally sensitive and sustainable manner• Directly assist with the creation and implementation of our first Haitian business, Frantz Anna's Wacka Wacka Auto Parts (Launched Feb. 2015)
