For IBM working as project engineer in an Expertise Team within the ABN/AMRO Fortis account. The team is responsible for implementing the new VMware ESXi 4.1 / 5.0 environment on which the existing/new virtual Servers from the old Datacentres where ESX (3.5 and 4.0) will land.The old Servers will be copied or migrated with Platespin (P2V tooling) or VMware Converter to the new ESX Server environment.Within this project team I was responsible for all ESX related businesses, like installing/implementing new Servers, defining and configuring Cluster and Resource pools, and storage related businesses. Other related work on this project is implementing/configuring and designing the ESX environment for vCenter, VUM (update Manager) and the SQL 2008 Server environment. This was also on off the expertise needed in this team.The project team was responsible for migrating (converting) Bare Metal Servers to a virtual edition off the Server. The team was centralising the Server environment to a new large Datacentres, so most old Servers running in foreigner datacentres have to be centralised.We also where working in a pilot in the test environment with testing and getting experience in using the VMA (vSphere Management Assistant) and using VMware vCenter Operations in comparing to using SCOM 2007 with the 3e party management pack off Veem for VMware ESX.Delivering 3e line support is also one off the roles that was asked within the team, to be a sort off repository for other support departments. And to be able to support them on difficult 3e problems, and to give advice for doing maintenance in the daily support teams.Making installation documents for maintenance or new installations, and also reviewing 3rd party documents and making new testing documents. And making support documents for other departments that are going to do first and second line support, for support teams within the Netherlands and India.

Working on the Essent EPO Codex project for about 8 months, Consolidating the current server Hardware environment to VMware ESX version 2.53 , together with PlatespinPower Convert and PowerReconn application software.
