As an intern at illumina, I worked on a first of its kind self indexing aggregate file format for efficiently summarizing BAM files which allows genome browsers to quickly query and display any genomic range.I also worked on a next generation cloud based Genome Browser, I was responsible for integrating Bindex and designing the bindex view. I wrote software in Rust to read, write, and aggregate BAM files. I gained experience developing for AWS with Lambda functions.I was able to quickly become familiar with Genomics, Bioinformatics, new technologies and large codebases.

Responsible for the development of several projects that directly addressed a need of the team or user and contributed to a growing knowledge base of examples. Also was responsible for a few larger projects and pipelines that I took ownership of from design through development. I gained experience applying Machine Learning and Computer Vision technologies (Intel OpenVINO) to solve complex problems.
