Responsibilities; Organising my project work and liaising with team members to effectively meet the required client deadlines. This encompasses preparatory documentation, laboratory work in the form of ELISA, ECLIA or automated analysers and reporting of results, all carried out in accordance with relevant SOP’s and to GCP/GLP standards. Regular contact with the client is key to communicate project milestones, discuss further objectives and generally ensure their needs are being met. As well as project related laboratory work I am responsible for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment including the calibration of auto-pipettes. In addition to these responsibilities I am an active member of the Lean Club which aims to improve efficiency through lean working. I am also joint chair of the Staff Association Committee which acts to support colleagues and liaise between staff and management. In my time at Quotient I have organised two interactive internal open days for Biologicals, at the most recent of which I presented on the subject of “Myeloperoxidase… friend or foe?”

Responsibilities; Providing support to all contractors placed at the Sandwich and Cambridge Pfizer sites. I was also involved in aspects of the recruitment process taking job briefs from hiring managers and conducting interviews with potential candidates. I carried out periodic performance reviews, managed aspects of contract extensions and terminations and was in place as an employer representative. With the eventual downsizing of the Sandwich site I was involved in redeployment of contractors and on hand to offer support and assistance to both SRG contractors and Pfizer management.

Responsibilities; Analysis of environmental samples and chemical analysis of manufacturing’s purified water. Analytical methods included - limit tests, conductivity, TOC, COD, Dissolved Oxygen and pH. Analysis of waste solvent mixtures by GC. Determination of VOCs; in gaseous forms through Thermal Desorption as part of occupational health monitoring and in aqueous form through Headspace GC. Preparation of reagents, standards and samples as required. Ensuring all work was completed and reported to meet the required deadlines according to USP, GLP and GMP standards.
