In my current role I am responsible for the design and development of the Guide Dogs Rehoming Service. Combining my previous experience in operations management and the rehoming sector with my drive for continuous improvement and project management qualification I am hoping to improve the service, lead national standardization and create a robust service that meets the needs of our internal and external stakeholders.

I was responsible for managing the health, care and welfare of the 2000 Guide Dogs in the South & East via a skilled and geographically disparate team. I worked to improve standardization and performance while driving a new team culture prioritizing staff well being and sense of cohesion across teams. I managed a multidisciplinary team of 14 direct reports and over 30 Dog Care staff to ensure the provision of Dog Care services across the region. This included managing the Redbridge Guide Dog Training School kennels, the South & East rehoming staff and a team of Dog Care and Welfare Advisors.I was responsible for budget holding and creation.I have driven cultural change within my team - encouraging staff development, innovation and well being while ensuring our targets are still met or exceeded. I have encouraged and facilitated engagement with Guide Dogs new strategy. I have a clear and structured system of communication across the dog care team to work towards improved cohesion and performance. I have carried out a national review of dog care volunteering and led a successful overhaul of roles and training packages.

I managed a multidisciplinary team of 15 staff, over 30 volunteers and contracted veterinary team. This included regular 1-1s, annual appraisals, recruitment and inductions as well as performance management and disciplinary issues. I encouraged staff training and development. I was responsible for budget creation and financial management, as well as on site Health and Safety management. I developed relationships with other departments across the organisation - for instance, with the social media team to allow us to better advertise and rehome our animals. Rehoming numbers significantly increased during my time in this role, nearly doubling compared the the same period in previous years.

I was jointly responsible for the smooth running of the Rehoming Centre. I implemented several changes, including revitalizing the retail shop on site, improving internal communication, and developed the experience for customers on site.

In this role I reported on the performance of the Face to Face fundraising team, liaised with external agencies, created copy for the Sponsor a Dog materials and dealt with customer queries and issues. I assisted as Complaints Coordinator for the Fundraising Department.
