I actively promote equity, resilience, and growth in all the communities I serve. My role, as a Substance Use Prevention/Intervention Program Supervisor, allows me to serve to a greater scope many wonderful communities and facilitate the improvement of access to valuable public health resources across the state. Partnerships and equity are big parts of the work I have done and continue to do in my professional career. I was drawn to this work through my volunteer work. After joining a community coalition as a volunteer, I found a passion for evidence-based, data-informed prevention based on science. Learning about risk and protective factors created a real and tangible way for communities to heal and improve in areas they may need to, as well as promote real resiliency. As a Certified Prevention Professional with over 2,000 hours of experience and learning on prevention, I bring valuable expertise to the communities and school systems I serve.Everyone has the capacity for greatness and I pride myself in being persistent enough to discover and nurture it in others. Everyone's skills are different and it's a joy to see others reach their potential. In addition to growing others, I'm also passionate about my own personal and professional development. I participated and graduated from the Coalition Business Administration Program in January 2023, in Washington DC. Being part of this rigorous program and developing my skills further was an honor. In August 2023, I co-presented with a group of rural prevention providers in Birmingham, Alabama on the importance of network in work at rural, frontier communities to collectively expand the reach of public health campaigns. I intend to continue to refine my professional practice and help others build theirs along the way.
