Loan Officer'S Assistant
CurrentI started at Nations Lending as a loan coordinator, focusing on the operations side of preparing mortgage loans for underwriting and closing. This included being responsible for 100+ files at time, verifying client employment, obtaining loan payoffs and VOMs, updating and coordinating home and flood insurance policies, adhering to Patriot Act regulations, and acting as a liaison between the clients, loan officers, and operations team. After approximately a year at the company, I was offered and accepted the promotion to Loan Officer’s Assistant (LOA). My role expanded to include the aforementioned responsibilities as well as the additional responsibilities of determining and obtaining support documentation required for underwriting, preparing loans for underwriter review, clearing any conditions needed to obtain approval for closing, locating and scheduling inspections, communicating with appraisers, assisting the title company with judgment and lien payoffs/releases, and communicating with all parties involved in the loan process.
